Standard Capital attended the AAD event in Boston 2022

Great first day of the AAD (American Academy of Dermatologists) annual event in Boston! Great to be back at the first show after Covid! The last show was back in 2019. So many presenters and exhibitors with new and amazing products, valuable information and incredible displays. It was so exciting to see the new technology and how far science has come! From lasers, pharmaceutical companies, skin care, software, and medical equipment. There was an endless sea of booths each one with a different company showcasing an exciting product that they have created.

There were so many companies with quality displays and exciting products to see. Some of the exhibits we wanted to highlight are listed below.

One of the most impressive companies presenting at the event is Intraop. An amazing group of people out of Silicon Valley California that have created an amazing machine that will literally cure skin cancer called the Mobetron. IntraOp is the leading innovator of electron therapy devices for treating cancer. IntraOp’s compact and mobile linear accelerators enable oncologists to deliver effective, precise, and affordable radiation therapy at the point of care. The Mobetron is the most comprehensive electron therapy linear accelerator system with applications in intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT) and non-invasive treatment of skin cancer. This is an absolute game changer for people suffering from this often deadly form of cancer. It will allow a patient to get their cancerous lesions removed in a quick, painless, office visit instead of surgically. It’s truly awe nspiring to see something that will save countless lives.

Another top contender in the dermatology and aesthetic space is a long time favorite- Candela Medical. Candela, a leading global medical aesthetic device company with a long standing superior reputation for creating quality products for the last fifty years. Located in Marlborough Massachusetts this company has a high quality, highly educated team of people working for them. Their reps were friendly and knowledgeable and clearly know their industry and know it well. Candela displayed their impressive line of lasers and microneedling products which have a top notch superior reputation for being well made and long lasting. One notable product is the Nordlys which is a multi platform laser with 21 indications for use. The Nordlys system is configured with pre-set aesthetic and dermatologic treatments that have been developed and designed for over 20 years to fix a plethora of skin issues such as vascular lesions, including leg veins and port wine stains, among other things. Candela is probably best known for their strides in laser hair removal- the Gentle Max Pro is the gold standard in laser hair removal and preferred by the majority of dermatologists for its high quality and ability to treat an array of skin conditions as well as hair removal. This machine can treat benign pigmented lesions, redness and facial lesions, spider and leg veins, wrinkles, vascular lesions, Angiomas, hemangiomas, port wine stains, PFB, and nail fungus.

Venus concept was another exhibitor that is changing the game in hair loss, and hair removal. Hair loss affects more than 80 million Americans—approximately 50 million men and 30 million women. They have a few products to solve hair loss- the Venus Artas, and the Neograft which can easily give someone suffering from hair loss their dignity back-as these hair restoration machines harvests each individual follicular unit onto the patients head wherever they have lost their hair. The Neograft specializes in extraction and implementation of hair follicles. Their display was set up to show exactly how the procedure is done showing the laser at work implanting new hair follicles to a bald mannequin head. It was educational as well as impressive and should not be missed. They have a number of other quality products such as the Venus Legacy™ which is an advanced non-invasive medical device that effectively resolves challenging aesthetic needs, such as cellulite reduction, skin tightening, and wrinkle reduction.

Hydra facial was there displaying their hydrafacial machine which uses patented technology to cleanse, extract, and hydrate. Their before and after photos are impressive for allowing people suffering from the beginning of hair loss and thinning to try to reverse the damage.

Lumenis is another company that should be noticed. They have an impressive portfolio of products. They have multiple products that serve many different medical conditions . They have the Digital Trio a 3 in 1 platform for Glaucoma and retina care, the Legend Pro to treat an array of skin conditions, the Opti-Light which treats dry eye condition, the Stellar M22 is an intelligent skincare platform which treats over 30 conditions and hair removal, the PiQo4 which is the most powerful pigment and tattoo removal laser in the market. They also have the Nuera Tight a temperature control skin tightening system, and the Moses 120H a urology platform for treating Lithotripsy and BPH.

Abbvie had a massive display that was on another level, they are the mega company responsible for countless pharmaceutical products that are well known such as RINVOQ, SKYRIZI, HUMIRA, BOTOX, DEPAKOTE, CELEXA, LEXAPRO, LINZESS, JUVEDERM and more. Their huge display included their allergen aesthetics department which displayed their epic cool sculpting machines. The one and ONLY FDA-cleared treatment to eliminate stubborn fat in 9 different areas of the body including under the chin and jawline areas, thighs, abdomen and flanks, along with bra fat, back fat, underneath the buttocks, and upper arms. Cool sculpting is a noninvasive non surgical fat reduction machine which eliminates 20-25% of fat cells for good by freezing.

There were so many booths with incredible products, displays and give aways. Great place to network, get educated and meet some brilliant, incredible people that are saving lives, building self esteem, and solving so many issues that plague countless people- from skin cancer, obesity, acne, alopecia, psoriasis, eczema and more. These people are the pioneers in their field and are finding a solution to serious issues. Everyone should be able to feel comfortable in their own skin and today I saw an impressive group of people who are making that happen! They all deserve more credit then they receive. Everyone who participated in this event did a phenomenal job and we were honored to be able to attend and be in the same space with such a vast group of brilliant, amazing people. Great job to all the presenters, companies, staff, laborers, and everyone who had a hand in creating, organizing and running such an incredible event!
